Dave Marshall
Dave Marshall has been based in Granity, on the West Coast of Te Waipounamu, since 2020 with his partner Annie. He graduated from Ilam School of Fine Arts with a BFA in Sculpture, and practice varies, adapting to the situation and context. His work in SOLO 2018 at the Dowse was a series of paintings using his own handmade paint. Since moving into his first home, he’s been acclimatising to the Coast life, fixing piles and sourcing the materials to make his own kiln. Dave’s practice is considered, thoughtful and focuses on the sustainability of a practice not just in terms of materials, but fitting it within his life.
