Vanessa Arthur
Vanessa Arthur is a jeweller based in the Hawke’s Bay. She completed a Bachelor of Applied Arts at Whitireia in 2011, and from there was awarded the Fingers Graduate Award (2011) and the Toi Poneke Arts Centre artist-in-residence.
Her practice focuses on the ordinary and banal - in that she explores the idea of things. Thinking about an object in terms of how it fits into a place and considering the materiality of the work she is creating. More recently she has been showing in Germany and France.
